The 2026 Conference Experience This is more than a week of classes — it’s a chance to work alongside fellow gilders, learn directly from master gilders, and immerse yourself in techniques that have been passed down for centuries. Whether you’re refining skills you’ve practiced for years or picking up a gilding knife for the first time, there’s something powerful about spending five days surrounded by people who share your passion for this ancient art.

Volunteer Opportunities This year’s conference is held at the American College of the Building Arts in Charleston, SC, whose generous support makes the week possible. We welcome volunteers to help with set-up, break down, room preparation, running errands, and guest transportation. Scholarship The 2026 Scholarship, funded by generous donors to the Sandra Spannan Educational Scholarship Fund, covers conference registration and tuition for one class (up to three days).
